James
James originally from Zimbabwe is married with children. He now lives in Pietermaritzburg and travels around to sell his metal beaded goods. He was recently mugged on one of his journeys and lost all his stock, but has quickly recovered, and wants to make enough money selling his stock to buy a car so he can travel where he likes to sell his stock.
Any orders for these goods will help James reach his goal!

Charmaine
Roz visits Charmaine once a week, to take food and do a bible study with her. Charmaine is HIV positive but is on ARV’s and is very healthy. God brought her back from her death bed, after her family neglected her, and she testifies this. She cannot read and write, and never went to school, but is very good at sewing, embroidery and crochet. She is excited to be earning money for herself at last by taking part in working for the Zimele project, although it is currently not enough for her to live on.

mats, and is also able to sew using a machine, however she is hoping
to earn/save enough money to buy herself a machine and get back to
making clothes which is her real passion.

Betta runs ‘Zimele’ the sewing project which Charmaine is involved in. Creating handcrafted bags and books, created by other local Zulu women.
